Bonjour,

I don’t like increasing, working in a spiral, counting, using stitch markers, stuffing, embroidering, using a small hook and worsted weight yarn, or sewing crochet together.  So how did I end up with so many amigurumis?

This is a small sampling of some of the amigurumi I have crocheted, featuring mostly dolls.

The Cogaroo’s crocheted version of herself (although I don’t actually look like her!)  You might recognize her from a certain blog’s header.

This is Marigold.  Her head is actually able to stay upright without that head of curls!
Both dolls were made from the same pattern:

Then, some smaller dolls from Ana Paula Rimoli’s book ‘Amigurumi Two’.

This is Merida, from the Disney/Pixar movie ‘Brave’.  I like making dolls based off of books or movies.

And this is Katniss, from the book ‘The Hunger Games’ by Suzanne Collins.  (She’s posing with the Katniss Collector Barbie’s weapons.  {Yes, I’m obsessed with that book.})

A smaller doll, but with super long hair, from the Teacup Spirit doll pattern at http://byhookbyhand.blogspot.com/

(You’ll have to scroll down, the pattern is in the left sidebar.)

I was planning to make this post with only pictures of dolls, but another amigurumi was looking left out, so I decided to add a picture of her:Image

The Love Bug!  Made from a pattern on Ravelry:

I made the body entirely in one piece, and did 8 circles.

Instead of stuffing, I use yarn scraps to stuff amigurumi.  You know, the little ones that are way too tiny to crochet anything with.  I use every single bit of a skein of yarn!

Well, good job if you made it through this monologuing!  I hope that you have a good day.  😀

  1. Imagine if you actually liked increasing, working in a spiral, counting, using stitch markers, stuffing, embroidering, using a small hook and worsted weight yarn, or sewing crochet together. Your house would be taken over by amigurumi!

    1. I guess it’s good that I don’t like increasing, working in a spiral, counting, using stitch markers, stuffing, embroidering, using a small hook and worsted weight yarn, or sewing crochet together. (That’s a good typing workout.) I don’t think there would be living space!

  2. You know what I want for Christmas!
