Back to Blogging?

Ah, new WordPress editor, how I loathe you. How’s that for a greeting? I’ve been gone so long that WordPress has an existential crisis and completely reinvents itself.

I have been active on Instagram for the past several years, but the app isn’t what it used to be and has grown to be too…commercial. More often than not, I find myself wanting to buy things that I really don’t need, or, honestly, even want. What used to be an opportunity to connect with like-minded nerds now feels more like a chore than anything and doesn’t add anything positive to my life.

So…here’s where I’m going to share updates on what’s going on! Whether that be reading, writing, crochet, general life stuff, or my cat. (Yes, I have a cat now!) Today I figured we could catch up on my latest releases (!!!) and maybe in the future I can just share general life stuff. Boy, I missed this. So many authors are doing newsletters but that’s not really my thing. You can still subscribe via email in the sidebar –> if you want me to show up in your inbox.

I am delighted to announce two new short stories that are out this month!

I have also updated this website with my latest publications that you can check out under the “Books” tab in the menu.

Deathwriter

My short story “Deathwriter” appears in Folk Tales From the Hinterland from Gurt Dog Press, published December 2021. “Deathwriter” is about a young girl named Ami who tricks Death into granting her immortality…but grows to regret it.

Gravity

My short story “Gravity” appears in Mirror Mirror: A Compendium of Fractured Fairytales from Fractured Mirror Publishing, published December 2021. “Gravity” is a retelling of “The Light Princess,” one of my favorite lesser-known fairy tales, and I had lots of fun writing it.

I have a new book coming out in February but I will make another post about that next week.

Thank you so much for sticking around with me and supporting my work. I truly appreciate you all. See you next week with more updates and hope you have a good weekend!
