In which an introvert makes a vlog

I made a vlog! (Gee, you never would have figured that out from the title…)

I never thought I would put stuff on YouTube because I’m a shy little thing. But I do really enjoy watching vlogs, and I’ve been wanting to give it a try for a while. There’s something appealing about just being able to have a casual chat with your audience, in a way that blogging doesn’t allow.

Yesterday I went to Collage, this amazing store with craft supplies ranging from washi tape to buttons to origami paper, and got a mini haul. So I made a short video showing you what I picked out. :} It’s the first video up on my Once Upon a Yarn channel, but I am planning to add more. Definitely some crochet tutorials in the future.

This was really fun because I wasn’t afraid of being awkward – I know I trip over my words and say “like” too much and act like an excitable five-year-old. So since I knew that going in, I could just fangirl over my new school supplies. I tried not to edit too much so you could get the Genuine Dork Experience. And also because if I started cutting stuff, this video would be like 15 seconds long.

Also, I ran out of storage on my iPhone so for the last couple minutes I had to film on my laptop camera. Hence the decrease in audio and visual quality. It’s a shame, but I’m trying not to fret over it – I’m at my wit’s end with this iPhone storage stuff. 😛

I hope you can maybe enjoy this for what it is, a stress-free sharing my love for washi tape. I’d really like for vlogging to be another creative outlet. It’s fun to try something different, and to not take myself too seriously. Which I could use practice with. :} I’d love to hear your thoughts! Don’t ridicule me too much! 😉
