Today I get to drop the release date for my second book, The Lost Girl of Goose Creek…and maybe tease a few pages… Keep reading to find out!
I also have commissioned some art of the characters that I will be using in book swag. When preorder links are live, I will be doing a preorder promo, where if you send me the receipt of your purchase I will send you some cool stuff. I will probably also extend it through the first week of publication to give you a better chance to score some swag. I will update you as this occurs!
But first, the release date is…
February 21, 2022!
A little over a month until this bookchild is out in the world. I cannot wait. (Graphic by Gurt Dog Press.)
Lost Girl is a novel in verse, which means it’s a pretty quick read despite being over 400 pages. A lot of people have never read a novel in verse, so today I will be giving you a sneak peek of one of the pages/poems! I love novels in verse. I have been reading them for almost a decade, and they are an underrated gem. I hope that I could do the form justice.

Tense Anticipation
Clings to my skin
like the humid summer air
Runs through my veins
until I want to spill my blood
Every heartbeat a new hell
of waiting,
waiting for relief
that never comes
Every tick of the clock
Every tap of my fingers
Every thump of my heart
I think I will die of the nothing
Of the not-being
Stuck in my body
Stuck in this room

I chose this one because tense anticipation is exactly what I feel as I await publication day. Although, of course, I am in a much better situation than Etta, my main character.
The spacing is also little off thanks to WordPress doing its thing, so be sure to check out the book for the accurate version.
I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek. I will share more of these before release day!
