Well, this is it.
This is officially the largest amigurumi I’ve ever crocheted.
Yes. A life-size crocheted chicken. (I think she’s bigger than ours, but ours are not yet full grown.)
Just what everyone needs!
I took her outside for some pictures…
The chickens were curious as to what I’d brought out.
But when I showed them,
they were more than a little alarmed,
as demonstrated by Pearl’s expression here.
Nevertheless, Hildegard was intent upon exploring.
Harriet didn’t like what I was doing and quickly made her exit.
Similarities?
My little sister very kindly agreed to be my photographer, and I am much obliged. Thank you, sister! 🙂
This post will be linked to the Clever Chicks Blog Hop. (If I haven’t procrastinated too much to make this roundup.) Link is in my sidebar.
I’m in the process of writing the pattern up, in case you, too, would like to crochet your own chicken. It’s labor intensive, but lots of fun.
Awesome chicken. But I wonder why your real life chickens were alarmed. Do you think they were concerned about future taxidermy?
Actually, I think it’s because they recognize each other by their faces. Like the time my photographer wore a chicken hat out to the coop, and freaked out all the chickens.
I am very tempted to spam your comment for mentioning such a thing. (The “T word.”)
I have noticed that animals don’t always react well to their toy counterpart (apart from cats and dogs)
She is lovely … I think the other chickens are just jealous of her beauty. 🙂
I love the chicken tracks in the Harriet photo!
That is the maddest thing I’ve seen anyone crochet! But utterly brilliant!
Hildegard is adorable. So life-like, Cogaroo. Nice work!
LOL! Well done! Very creative.Thank you for sharing with the Clever Chicks Blog Hop!
