Granny Rose Slouchy Hat

Bonjour,

It’s been a while since I last posted!  I’ve been pretty busy.  Don’t worry, I still found time to design a new pattern (a Barbie dress, I’ll post it soon) and crochet a hat.

I had been looking for the perfect hat to make with my giant yarn stash.  I started a hat from my ‘Easy Beanie’ pattern after failing to find anything.  But then I read this post on Apple Blossom Dreams, and *poof*, I had the perfect hat pattern!

I’m surprised I hadn’t crocheted myself a hat before now!  They’re warm, soft, and snuggly (especially with I Love This Yarn).  It felt amazingly softer and more drape-y after coming out of the dryer.

I’m quite fascinated with the bobbles!  And the puff stitches…and the flowers…there are lots of interesting textures on this hat.  Lots of ends to weave too, but it wasn’t that bad.  I used a size H (5mm) crochet hook as in the pattern, put in a few more decreases, and it turned out to be a good size.

That’s about all I can think of to monologue about, so I will bid you a goodbye for now!

A bientôt,

Le Cogaroo (not sure how you say ‘Cogaroo’ in French…)

Lovely hat, Cogaroo. Your color choices are very pretty and it looks beautiful on you! Very stylish. Great job!

    1. Thank you very much, Sweet Petunia!

  2. Nice job – I am so happy you were able to follow the pattern – it was a quickly written haphazard pattern, but you are so smart to figure it out. It looks like you may have used some pistachio and limelight yarn…if so, two of my favorites!

Darling photos, it’s fun to see the Cogaroo!

    1. It was helpful to look at the pictures; it helped me figure out where to do the puff stitches. Yes, I did use pistachio and limelight, I love I Love This Yarn colors!

I’m glad you like the pictures, I don’t like having my face on the Internet, but from the side it’s fine. 😀

Very stylish indeed! Did you use some of your Christmas yarn in this project?

    1. Thank you! Yes, this included a great deal of Christmas yarn. 🙂

I’m having a heck of a time finding the Granny Rose Slouch Hat pattern on Pintrist. I’ve opened every link I can find. Your article comes up and the comments section. Is there any way I can find the pattern? Perhaps you would be so good as to email it to me at:
    Pat2hig@yahoo.com
    Thank you…

    1. Hi Patricia! I feel your pain not being able to find the pattern from a picture on Pinterest…it’s super frustrating! I used this pattern from Apple Blossom Dreams: http://www.appleblossomdreams.com/2013/01/stash-buster-2-granny-rose-slouchy-hat.html

It’s not really a conventional pattern in that you have to figure out some of the directions yourself, but I found it pretty easy to follow – and I still have my slouchy hat, so I can post closeup pictures if you need any extra help! 🙂

Oh, thank you so much. I’m sure you’ll be hearing from me again once I begin the project.
There is another similar hat but it doesn’t give the hat a name and it’s all in Spanish. Is it the same basic pattern? I love both hats and the gloves are cute, too.
