Bonjour,
I had prepared a post yesterday wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving…but then I accidentally deleted it. 🙁 So…happy late Thanksgiving!
After the double crochet, we just have triple crochets and slip stitches to learn before you’ve learned all 5 basic stitches!
Before we begin ~ I know I’ve said before that I don’t count my turning chains as stitches. (Sometimes I do in the round.) So I wanted to share an awesome link with you here. It’s an alternative to a turning ch-3, and I don’t know how I survived before I saw it. I will be showing you an alternate method in case you want something easier.
Let’s start with a chain of 10 to practice our double crochets.
Options for Turning
1. Use a turning chain-3. To do this, chain three and turn the work around. In the picture below, the rectangle indicates the chain three while the arrow points to where you’ll make the first double crochet.
2. Use the stacked single crochet from here. This gives a much straighter edge. Below is a comparison of the two techniques:
That’s all for today. I hope I helped somebody!
